Thesis statement: student must be aware of hoax news.

Hoaxes are false information, false news, or facts that are twisted or engineered for the purpose of jokes so they are taken seriously (politically).  as students we must be aware of the extraordinary hoax news that is rife in this era.  we can see, smartphones trigger the spread of hoax news.  and social media is the fastest place to spread hoaxes. Then, how students avoid hoaxes.

Smartphone triggers the spread of hoax news.  it cannot be denied by us, hoax news spreads so quickly through smartphones.  we need to limit its use so that it is far from our thinking about rampant hoax news.  and the need for security so that hoax news is not easy to get into our smartphones.

Social media is the fastest hoax spread.  Why is that?  this happens because anyone can easily log in to their social media accounts to spread the hoax news they want to go viral.  of course, access to social media must be considered by us as a young generation of anti-hoaxes.  we need to understand this. Liputan6.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian Telematics Society (Mastel) released a survey of false information (hoaxes) that are rife in the country.  From the survey results, it is known that social media is the main source of hoax circulation. The survey process was conducted online and involved 1,116 respondents.  As many as 91.8 percent of respondents said that news about Socio-Politics, whether related to the Regional Head Election or the government, was the most common type of hoax, with a percentage on social media of 92.40 percent.

Students can use a filtering process that we can start by actively campaigning for the anti-Hoax movement in various campus activities. The form of the campaign can be done in various ways starting from conducting discussions and seminars that raise topics about Hoax, socialization about ethics that must be considered when using the internet  , as well as carrying out creative competitions as a persuasive step raised concern about the rise of the Hoax issue.

In conclusion, We must prioritize student awareness of hoaxes, because as active activists students need to understand and be able to avoid the hoax itself.  too often using social media should also be avoided.  it is better to hold many meetings to study religious knowledge as an anti hoax stronghold.
